What People Are Saying

“My father, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., said, Cowardice asks the question, “Is it safe?” Expediency asks the question, “Is it politic?” Vanity asks the question, “Is it popular?” But, conscience asks the question, “Is it right?” And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but one must take it because one’s conscience tells one that it is right. Daryl Davis continues to take a position that is not safe, political, or popular, but is right because it is driven by his conscience and courage. The work that Daryl is doing to bridge the divide, sets an example for our nation and world to follow in light of the current racial tensions. Daryl is truly committed to creating the Beloved Community where hate no longer exists, but love prevails.”

— REVEREND DR. BERNICE KING, DAUGHTER OF MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR & CORETTA SCOTT KING AND CEO THE KING CENTER – ATLANTA, GA

“At the end of his talk, a student called him Bold. That pretty much sums up who Jeff Schoep is—BOLD. Every day Jeff speaks he is taking a risk by acknowledging his faults. He is confident and courageous and has a fearless daring spirit that once took pride in hate and violence to now exercising non-violence and love.”

Bio Daryl Davis

He’s not white. He’s not even light-skinned. Yet, Daryl Davis, author of Klan-Destine Relationships, has come in closer contact with members of the Ku Klux Klan than most whites—and continues to do so.
Over two decades, his nonfiction stories of meeting with Klan leaders and attending rallies have kept audiences riveted. What began as research became a mission of friendship, leading numerous Klan members to renounce their beliefs and give Daryl their robes and hoods.

As a race relations expert, Daryl has been featured on CNN, NBC, Good Morning America, NPR, and The Washington Post, and honored with awards such as the Elliott-Black Award and the Bridge Builder Award.
Filled with riveting encounters and profound lessons, Daryl’s lectures empower audiences to confront prejudice and build peace through understanding.

Bio Jeff Schoep

Once America’s most notorious neo-Nazi, Jeff Schoep now works globally as a peace advocate and deradicalization consultant.
For over 20 years, he led the National Socialist Movement before renouncing hate in 2019, inspired in part by relationships with Daryl Davis and filmmaker Deeyah Khan.

Jeff has since become a consultant for the Simon Wiesenthal Center, spoken at the Nobel Peace Center, and founded Beyond Barriers, a nonprofit dedicated to ending extremism.
His message of transformation and empathy has reached audiences from synagogues to universities, offering a rare and hopeful look into how even the most entrenched ideologies can evolve.

Program

Courageous Conversations: Bridging Humanity Across Divides

This event centers around the belief that mending the fabric of our shared humanity begins with courageous conversation, empathy, and listening deeply.

Together, Daryl and Jeff explore:

  • Calling people in vs. calling people out: How approaching others with compassion, not condemnation, leads to real transformation.
  • Principled bridge-building: Practical examples of dialogue that transcend ideology and fear.
  • The power of human connection: How empathy and understanding can serve as tools for healing and peace.

Let us come together not in judgment, but in hope. Not in fear, but in understanding. And not in silence, but in powerful, healing conversation.
