Lourds Lane, International Speaker, Educator and Broadway Creator

Bio:

Lourds Lane – International Speaker, Educator & Broadway Creator

Lourds Lane is an internationally acclaimed keynote speaker, educator, and Broadway creator who has dedicated her life to empowering young people to unleash their authentic “superhero” selves. As the founder and curriculum creator of the global nonprofit The SuperYou FUNdation (superyoufun.org), Lourds has reached more than 40,000 youth and adults worldwide — particularly those who are marginalized or at risk — through fun, interactive, arts- and music-infused programs that spark healing, confidence, and community.

A classically trained musician from the age of three and a Harvard honors graduate, Lourds is also the writer, composer, and electric violin–playing co-star of the Broadway- and West End–bound musical SuperYou (superyoumusical.com). Her electrifying performances with the cast have sold out Carnegie Hall and London’s Lyric Theatre, and her music has gone viral across the globe. Thousands of fans continue to translate and post covers of her songs — celebrated weekly on #FanCoverFriday across SuperYou socials — and her ballad “To My Angels” is now the 4th most-performed song in senior college showcases in the U.S., standing proudly alongside established Broadway musicals.

Recognized for her impact at the intersection of art and social change, Lourds is a recipient of the Ideagen Global Leadership Award, a finalist for the Actor’s Equity Paul Robeson Award honoring “dedication to the betterment of humankind,” and a two-time finalist for the Fred Ebb Award in musical theatre. She has delivered her signature music-infused keynotes at TEDWomen, TEDYouth, the United Nations, Forbes Women, Microsoft’s Global Women’s Conference, the United Federation of Teachers, and on Pride stages across the country as an opening speaker and performer — where audiences leave not just inspired, but transformed.

What thought leaders are saying:

“The brilliant musical talent of Lourds Lane brought a nearly audible sigh of relief from this Type A crowd when she implored us to embrace our flaws, sharing her poignant personal story through her violin, singing, and storytelling.” — Joan Michelson, The Huffington Post

“Lourds is uncrushable, especially in her mission to help others find their inner superhero. She beats to the music of her own drummer, with a wonderful combination of smarts, confidence, and curiosity. She makes me think differently and dream bigger.” — Denise Restauri, Producer, Forbes Women

“Lourds Lane charmed the TEDWomen audience by playing her violin and sharing the story of her life from child musical prodigy to adult ‘superhero’ self.” — Pat Mitchell, President/CEO of PBS, Co-Founder and Host of TEDWomen

Inspiring Keynote – A Superhero Awakening

When Lourds steps on stage — electric violin in hand — students don’t just hear a speech, they experience a transformation. Part storytelling, part concert, part empowerment rally, she weaves her journey as a Filipino-American artist, Broadway creator, and nonprofit founder into a powerful truth: your authentic self is your greatest superpower. She inspires students to own every part of who they are and wear their scars with pride. With music that electrifies the room and stories that touch the heart, Lourds inspires them to rise above fear, embrace resilience, and believe in the impact they can make.

Mindful Capemaking Workshop – Uncovering the Superhero Within

This is far more than an activity — it’s a transformational rite of passage. Students design their own superhero capes, blending mindfulness, creativity, music, and movement to uncover the traits that make them extraordinary and the qualities they wish to step into. In a world where youth often feel unseen or pressured to conform, this experience builds community, celebrates uniqueness, and sends students home with a tangible reminder of their inner power. Schools consistently report that participants leave with renewed confidence, emotional release, and a profound sense of belonging.

What Schools Are Saying

“There’s something extraordinary about Lourds and the nature of her program that engages and energizes even the hardest-to-reach students. It shines a light on young people I might not otherwise notice, giving me — and others — the chance to see strengths in them we may never have seen.”— Nina La Plante, Teacher, Massachusetts

“We are deeply grateful to Lourds Lane for motivating our students to think creatively and to join forces to create a better world. It is through her inspiration that our students created a music video to promote gender equality, which became the highlight of an international festival featuring over 120 students from 18 countries.”— Geeta Rajan, St. Mark’s Sr. Sec. Public School, New Delhi, India

“The Giving Circle Africa in Jinja, Uganda was heavily blessed during Lourds’ visits. Even years later, the children in our villages and schools still sing the SuperYou songs and declare their superpowers. It was transformative not just for the children, but for us all.”— Wambi Moses, Director, The Giving Circle Africa

“The group of teenagers, who can sometimes be ‘too cool,’ surprised me by being thoroughly engaged—offering positive affirmations about each other, creating their SuperYou capes, and describing what it meant to them. It was creative, fun, and such an empowering experience for all.”— Lorraine Douglas, United Kingdom
