Ken Nwadike Jr. is a peace activist, motivational speaker, and video journalist best known as the creator of the Free Hugs Project, a movement that has inspired millions worldwide through viral videos and live appearances promoting love, unity, and human connection.

Once a homeless student-athlete, Ken’s journey from hardship to hope embodies the resilience he now teaches. His story—part heart, part humor, and entirely human—reminds audiences that courage and compassion are contagious.

Following the Boston Marathon bombing, Ken launched the Free Hugs Project to promote empathy in the face of fear. His peace-keeping efforts quickly gained national attention, leading to features on CNN, BBC, Good Morning Britain, USA Today, and in Google’s “Year in Search” video as one of the defining moments of 2016.

Ken has shared his message at hundreds of events—from Fortune 500 companies and universities to high-school auditoriums—and was most recently featured as a Delta Airlines Velvet Series speaker. Through every story and interaction, he invites audiences to look beyond division and rediscover what connects us.
