Bio: Lillian Ankrah – Art Therapist  and Wellness Coach

Lillian Ankrah, ATR-BC, LCAT is a Ghanaian-American Art Psychotherapist who has worked with people from all walks of life for 20 years. Having the bi-cultural experience of an immigrant family, Lillian has a deep sense of compassion for the lived experiences of others and aims to help people feel safe and accepted. Her professional resume spans from working with adults undergoing psychiatric treatment, pediatric oncology, teens in foster care to supporting survivors of domestic violence. Her approach to therapy is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive and rooted in social justice, advocacy and empowerment. She is an expert in treating trauma and is fully trained in EMDR therapy and Brainspotting. Lillian is also a meditation teacher and a Level I Sound healer. Lillian has a BA from the University of Virginia and an MPS in Art Therapy from Pratt Institute. In addition to practicing psychotherapy, Lillian is an international speaker, workshop leader and an aspiring children’s book author.

Handle With Care: Understanding Trauma & Trauma-Informed Approaches to Working with Communities Affected by Hate Crimes

This training supports participants in understanding how trauma affects an individual’s, and therefore a community’s, physical, emotional and spiritual bodies. Six principles of trauma-informed approaches are explained and applied to the participant’s daily life. Mindfulness and self-care techniques are explored and experienced in this training.

Workplace Wellness

This workshop explores common workplace stressors and teaches participants simple, yet effective techniques for self-care and community care. Taking better care of one’s self leads to better care of our friends, family, coworkers and community.

Come Out and Play! : Art Open Studio to Support Wellness & Creativity

This experiential workshop is for adults to reconnect with play! Participants will explore, experiment and play with a variety of art materials to express themselves in new ways. Workshops can be more structured or free flowing by request.
