Programs:

Health Equity comes in many forms.

Going Back to Normal Would Be Criminal (Race and Sexuality Series)

60-90  Minute Workshop

Culture, Race & Trauma into Process, Reconciliation, Healing and Practice

Health Equity is an abolitionist framework for racial and sexual reconciliation and healing. This work developed through empirical research, engagement, and experiential learning. This session explores the praxis of emotion, race, culture, gender and power. We treat health equity as formative, and being a pivotal role in reshaping cultural ecosystems, and dismantling systemic inequities that we live and experience each day.

The country has not only opened up, but had a unique awakening. There is no way we should “return back to normal”. This is not a fire drill, where all the students go outside and then report back to class as if nothing happened. We are not “all” in this together, let’s be honest we never were, so…. If we shouldn’t go back to normal, where should we go?  Our program participants can expect:

  • To examine the differences between Reproductive/Racial justice and accountability
  • To develop an understanding of social pathologies that create barriers to sexual and health equity.
  • Strategies for self-advocacy when tears and anger just aren’t enough
