Bio:

Carmen Perez- Jordan has dedicated 20 years to advocating for many of today’s important civil rights  issues, including mass incarceration, police accountability, gender equity, violence prevention  and racial healing. Carmen is the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Gathering for  Justice, co-founder of Justice League NYC | CA, National Co-Chair of the Women’s March on  Washington, and co-founder of Poderistas.

An established thought leader in racial justice and intersectional feminism, Carmen’s leadership  shines in being able to serve as a bridge and power-broker between generations, cultures and  identities. She is a leading voice on policy change in policing and the justice system, especially  the impact it has on the Latino community. She has crossed the globe promoting peace through  civil and human rights.

Carmen has been named one of Fortune’s Top 50 World Leaders, one of TIME’s most  influential people, “Latina of the Year ” and Forbes Mexico’s 100 Mujeres Más Poderosas. She  received the Global Activist Award from Women that Soar and the Justice, Peace, and Freedom  Award at the 2016 AFL-CIO Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Civil and Human Rights Awards.  Carmen’s favorite title, however, is mother of two young children.
