Music and Wellness: Self Care Strategies for Everyone!

One of my personal favorite therapeutic tools are my headphones. When I feel my stress levels rising, my fall back is to get lost in musical bliss. Currently I’m on a musical journey with a indie jam band named GOOSE. Their lyrics, vocals, harmonies, and deep dive jams act as my self medication when I’m stressed.

I find it fascinating that my stress levels could be completely peaking and two notes of a familiar song can cut the head right off that stress monster. For example, the moment I hear the riff to Rusted Root’s “iconic track”, “Send Me On My Way”, it’s as if all my worries just magically disappear.

The founding member and drummer of Rusted Root has become a master facilitator and educator in the field of music and wellness. Jim offers a transformative program titled, “Music and Wellness: Self Care Strategies for Everyone!” This interactive  experience explores the practical healing power of music. The goal of this hands-on program is to give participants evidence-based strategies to help them relieve anxiety, improve mood, deepen sleep, and increase mental focus –all by using beginner friendly music-based techniques.
